 In
this superb landscape, you will discover a genuine postcard of Normandy:
chateaux, manors, timber-framed houses, fields of apple trees give
the region some of its most beautiful images. The land is famous for
its horses and where, hidden behind their white frontages, you will
find the most prestigious stud farms. The Pays d'Auge is marked by
opulence and authenticity. Registered with its own Appellation d'Origine
Contrôlée for ciders from the Pays d'Auge, the
Cider Route brings together around twenty producers indicated
with the sign "Cru de Cambremer". These producers will recieve
visitors and do a tour of their cellar, with tastings and explanations
about their savoir-faire.
To the south of Caen, along the River
Orne, Suisse Normandy owes its name to its geographical relief.
In this mini-Helvetia, the
"Suisse Normandy Route" winds its way through a tourmented
landscape. By car, you can follow the signposted route as it passes
through the market towns of Thury Harcourt, Condé sur Noireau,
Pont d'Ouilly and Clécy.

For the cliffs you have the choice of Upstream or Downstream! We
like both but to really enjoy the cliffs and take great photos,
climb the Upstream cliff in the morning and the Downstream in the
afternoon.
COTENTIN PENINSULAR
Dear travelling friend, if your path
has led you to our peninsular, it was not pure chance. Surrounded
by the sea,
Cotentin has no visitors passing through. Only nature-lovers
venture to this part of the world. The story is that Cotentin crossed
the paths of pilgrims from Saint Michel, on the way to Santiago
de Compostela. She accompanied William
the Conqueror, leaving Barfleur
to conquer England. She incarned the hope of millions of 19th century
Europeans, boarding in Cherbourg for an epic transatlantic journey
that would take them to the new world. She celebrated Freedom in
the Carentan
marches and on the beach at Sainte
Marie du Mont, where the fate of the world was deicded, one
morning in June 1944.
MONT SAINT MICHEL
 "Wonder
of the Western World", Mont-Saint-Michel
rises from the heart of the immense bay invaded by the largest tide
in Europe. Archangel Michael, head of the celestial army" asked
Aubert, Bishop of Avranches, to build and consecrate the first church
on 16 October 709. In 966, by request of the Duke of Normandy, a
benedictine community was established on the island. The pre-Romanesque
church was built in 1000.
Listed as a world heritage building by UNESCO in 1979, this tourist
destination today receives over three million visitors per year.
 The
town of Bayeux has an ancient historic quarter of medieval structure.
Totally spared by the allied bombings of 1944, it has an exceptionally
rich architectural heritage. Solemnly consecrated on 14 July 1077,
in the presence of William Duke of Normandy and King of England,
the
cathedral was largely improved and enlarged in the 13th and
15th centuries.
For nealry a thousand years, this
immense wool tapestry has lasted centuries, describing in pictures
William Duke of Normandy's conquest of England. Like a graphic novel,
it transports you back to the medieval period amidst Viking boats
and Norman cavaliers..
